Lacey, Discovery sign Afectair manufacturing agreement
Lacey Manufacturing, a unit of Precision Engineered Products, has entered into a definitive agreement to manufacture and supply product for the commercial launch of Discovery Laboratories' Afectair.
Discovery said Afectair is a series of proprietary ventilator circuit/patient interface connectors and related componentry which simplifies the delivery of inhaled therapies to critical care patients who requires ventilatory support.
Discovery Labs senior vice president and COO Thomas Miller said they believe Lacey is the right manufacturing partner for them as they have substantial experience with medical device injection molding and a proven track record of achieving program objectives with medical technology companies.
Discovery Labs anticipates that it will also receive CE mark for Afectair products and introduce them in the EU in late 2012.
