Delcath to provide Chemosat system logistics, training support to Schleswig-Holstein

Delcath Systems has entered into an agreement to provide logistics and clinical training support in the performance of their hepatic Chemosat Delivery system to University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein.

The University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein, which provides medical care to European centers, is expected to begin training of the Chemosat system in April 2012.

University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein Department of General and Thoracic Surgery director Thomas Becker said that their medical center will begin using Delcath's Chemosat system to treat cancers in the liver.

University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein Axel Dermatology department professor Axel Hauschild said clinical research suggests that Chemosat will offer them a clinically significant tool in treating melanoma liver metastases with melphalan.
